C’E Pizza E Pizza, Venice, Italy

Not once, not twice, but three times we have visited Venice and made our way back to this pizza parlour consistently. If you have ever been to Venice, you know how easy it is to get lost. This location, about a 15 minute walk from St. Mark’s Square, can be a challenge to find but it is worth the effort. If you are leaving St. Mark’s Square to walk toward the water taxis, take a left hand turn once you reach the waterfront, pass over two bridges and you will see a large brown building. Follow the side street after the brown building until you reach an open courtyard. Cross the courtyard on a angle, follow the street until you see the street corner highlighted in our last picture. Veer to the left and the pizza shop is just a few steps down the street.

Thin crust, many varieties, inexpensive and delicious! We knew we had found a gem our first time in Venice when we saw the locals lined up outside. For between 6-9 euro you can have your own personal pizza. I am happy to boast about the spinach, zucchini and eggplant pizza as a true veggie lover’s delight. While there is no washroom on the premise, you can pay to use the facilities at Pasticceria alla Bragora up the street or, better yet, sample one of their pastries or cookies for dessert and have complimentary customer access. If you are a fan of authentic Italian pizza, make your way to C’E Pizza E Pizza during your Venice vacation.

Happy travels, J&B
